Readout of President Biden’s Meeting with President Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic

President Joseph R. Biden Jr. met today with President Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic at the White House to deepen the U.S.-Dominican Republic bilateral relationship and discuss a number of shared priorities. The two leaders discussed how our two countries can continue to closely cooperate to create sustainable economic development for our people, including through the Americas Partnership, and take action to combat climate change. During the meeting, the leaders also discussed the security situation in Haiti, as well as developments on the deployment of a Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission for Haiti.

President Biden reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself in line with international law and expressed the Administration’s support for ensuring the delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza. President Biden also thanked President Abinader for his support of Ukraine.
